At last! Hammerin’ Hank Greenberg arrives!

Given that we’ve been doing this thing we call BaseballBigMouth.com since last April (and, as life-long Detroit Tigers’ fans, what a time to begin a baseball blog, eh?) we have continually fought the good fight of respecting copyrights and such, particularly when it pertained to photos. Granted, the words internet and piracy seem to go hand-in-hand in this regard, but alas, up to now, we have only used shots we have shot with our own God-given hands. Okay, there was that one pic of a pile of cornbread last October — so sue us. We were high on postseason baseball for the first time since 1987, okay?

That being said, we have finally found a website willing to share their catalogue with us, above-board, in a mutual agreed-to sharing of resources. You don’t know how good this makes The Heckler feel. For no reason whatsoever, other than to celebrate our new-found relationship, here’s a picture of Tigers’ legend Hank Greenberg, just because. We now present one of baseball’s all-time most underrated superstars. The great Hank Greenberg, shot during the 1935 World Series - which the Tigers won, by the way . . .

It’s been far too-long that we’ve been talking Tigers and haven’t had a pic of this legend to serve as a backdrop. We promise that, in the future, we will actually have real reasons to use the pics we do. But for now? To ape an old-school Petula Clark jam, it’s our site, and we will do what we want to . . . dig?
